Macaroni and Tomato Casserole

 
Ingredients -
2 pounds Lean Ground Beef
1 cup Yellow Onion, chopped
1-1/2 cup Ice Cold Water
1 clove Fresh Garlic, minced
1/4 cup Green Bell Pepper, chopped
2 (16 ounces each) can Whole Peeled Tomatoes, chopped
1 cup Tomato Juice
Coarse Salt
Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/2 teaspoon Dried Oregano
2 cups Dried Macaroni, uncooked
 
Preparation:

1. In a medium skillet, brown the hamburger meat.

2. Add the garlic, green pepper and onion and sauté until the onions are translucent.

3. Drain the excess fat.

4. Combine the tomato juice, tomatoes and the browned meat mixture.

5. Stir in the salt, pepper and oregano.

6. Mix well and place in slow cooker and cook low for 4 to 5 hours.

7. Stir in the uncooked pasta and cook for 2 to 3 hours more.

Asparagus

Cook until al dente, place in an ice bath to stop the cooking. Once blanched you can use immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

All artichokes, regardless of their size, should have the sharp tips of their leaves clipped off with a sharp knife or scissors.
