Asparagus Casserole

Layered casserole dish combines fresh chopped asparagus, cream of mushroom soup, mushrooms, cheddar cheese. Casserole is seasoned with salt and pepper and topped with french fried onion pieces.

Ingredients -

2 tablespoons Butter
2 cups chopped Asparagus
1 can (10.75 ounces) Cream of Mushroom Soup
4 ounces Mushrooms, trimmed and sliced
2 cups grated Cheddar Cheese
3 ounces French Fried Onions
Salt & Pepper, to taste

 
Preparation:

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Grease 2-quart casserole dish with butter.

3. Layer ½ chopped asparagus, ½ cream of mushroom soup, ½ sliced mushrooms and ½ shredded cheese to casserole dish.

4. Season with salt and pepper.

5. Repeat layering.

6. Bake 30 minutes.

7. Sprinkle fried onion pieces on top and bake additional 5 minutes to brown.

Fresh asparagus is the best choice for this recipe. If you desire to use frozen asparagus, be sure it has thawed and any excess moisture has been thoroughly drained.
