French Toast Casserole

Delicious and simple to make French toast breakfast casserole. Bread cubes are arranged in bottom of prepared baking dish. Mixture of eggs, whole milk, sugar, pure vanilla extract, and sea salt are poured over bread cubes. Casserole is dotted with butter and sprinkling of sugar and ground cinnamon. French toast is baked until golden brown and served with syrup and fresh fruit chunks.

Ingredients -

5 cups Bread Cubes (about 1/2 of a regular sized loaf)
4 Large Eggs
1-1/2 cups Whole Milk
1/4 cup Granulated Sugar, divided
1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
1 tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon

 
Preparation:

1. Turn the oven to 350 degrees and preheat.

2. Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

3. Line the bottom of the prepared dish with the bread cubes.

4. Combine the eggs, milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, vanilla and salt in a large bowl and mix well.

5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes.

6. Dot the top with butter and allow to soak for 10 minutes.

7. In a small bowl, combine the rest of the sugar and the cinnamon and sprinkle the mixture on top of the bread.

8. Bake until the top is golden brown, which takes about 45 minutes.

9. Serve with syrup and fresh fruit.
