Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Classic casserole dish prepared from macaroni pasta noodles, sharp cheddar cheese, butter, salt, fresh ground black pepper and evaporated milk.

Ingredients -

1 (16 ounces) package Macaroni Noodles
1 pound Sharp Cheddar Cheese, sliced
1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
Salt, to taste
Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste
1 (12 ounces) can Evaporated Milk

 
Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Lightly salt a large pot of water and bring it to a boil.

3. Add the pasta and cook it for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente.

4. Drain.

5. Grease a 2-quart casserole dish.

6. Place a 1/4 of the macaroni in the bottom.

7. Follow it by an even layer of one-quarter of the cheese slices.

8. Dot with butter and season with salt and pepper.

9. Repeat the process three times.

10. Pour evaporated milk evenly over the top of all.

11. Bake, uncovered, for one hour, or until top is golden brown.
