Scalloped Potato Gratin

 

Ingredients -

1-1/2 cups Heavy Cream
1 Sprig Fresh Thyme
2 Garlic Cloves, chopped
1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
Butter
2 pounds Russet Potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/8-inch thick slices
Coarse Salt
Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1/2 cup Grated Fresh Parmesan Cheese
Additional Grated Parmesan for garnish

 
Preparation:

1. Turn the oven to 375 degrees and preheat.

2. Combine the cream, garlic, nutmeg and a sprig of thyme in a saucepan and heat.

3. Spray a casserole baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.

4. Place a layer ofpotato in an overlapping pattern and season with salt and pepper.

5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and pour some of the mixture over the potatoes.

6. Sprinkle some grated parmesan over the top then repeat the layers.

7. Bake for 45 minutes.

8. Sprinkle a final layer of parmesan on top and broil for 5 minutes or until the cheese lightly browns.
