1. Turn the oven to 325 degrees and preheat.
2. Cook the sweet potatoes covered in water in a medium saucepan.
3. Cook until tender over medium heat, then drain and mash with a fork.
4. Combine the cooked sweet potatoes, eggs, sugar, milk, salt, butter and vanilla in a large bowl.
5. Stir until completely mixed.
6. Spoon the mixture into a 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
7. Mix the flour and sugar in a medium bowl and cut in the butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
8. Fold in the pecans and sprinkle the mixture over the sweet potatoes.
9. Bake until the topping is lightly browned, which takes about 30 minutes.
10. Serve and enjoy.
